Tajikistan is deepening cooperation with Swiss partners to promote the country’s tourism potential internationally and attract both visitors and investment.
In Geneva, Ziyodullo Salimzoda, Deputy Chairman of the Tajik Committee for Tourism Development, and Sharaf Sheralizoda, Tajik Ambassador to Switzerland, held meetings with Adrien Genier, Director General of the Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation, as well as executives from leading Swiss travel companies Trade Wings Voyages and Executive Travel, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.
The discussions centered on key initiatives, including attracting tourists to Tajikistan, implementing joint projects, and launching promotional campaigns, with a particular focus on presenting Tajik tourist routes to the Swiss market.
Participants also explored ways to draw investment into Tajikistan’s tourism sector, aiming to foster sustainable development, expand international visitation, enhance infrastructure, and create new jobs. Both sides highlighted the importance of long-term collaboration to boost Tajikistan’s tourism appeal, strengthen economic ties, and promote cultural exchanges.
Travel media company Primus Publishing noted that “Tajikistan is renowned for its unique natural landscapes and hospitality, as well as the legendary Pamir Highway, one of the highest and most scenic routes in the world.”
