Thirteen leading dried fruit processors from Tajikistan are set to represent the country at Anuga 2025, one of the world’s most prominent food and beverage trade fairs, taking place in Cologne, Germany from October 4 to 8.
Eight standout companies - Barakat Isfara, Oro Isfara, Visol Isfara, Fruits Valley, Isfarafood, Mevai Zarrin, Ali Apricot, and Zardolui Isfara - will join over 8,000 international exhibitors in showcasing their products to more than 150,000 visitors from around the globe, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.
Accompanying them will be representatives from other Tajik enterprises, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, and relevant trade associations, forming a robust national delegation.
Tajikistan’s participation is made possible through the support of the Government of Switzerland, under the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) Trade Promotion East: Balkan States and Central Asia Program, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, UNDP’s Aid for Trade (AfT) initiative, and the LITACA cross-border development project.
The event presents a major opportunity for Tajik producers to introduce their high-quality, naturally sun-dried fruits, promote export potential, and establish partnerships with international buyers, distributors, and food industry leaders.
“By showcasing a diverse range of premium dried fruits, our companies hope to attract new partners, expand into global markets, and foster trade relationships that benefit Tajikistan’s economy,” said Adolat Mirzoshoyeva from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan.
Held biennially, Anuga is considered one of the largest and most influential trade events in the global food and beverage sector, known for driving industry innovation, connecting producers and buyers, and spotlighting future trends.
“Anuga is a perfect opportunity for Tajik companies to network with leading global producers, enhance our brand visibility abroad, and stay in tune with evolving consumer demands,” said Dilshod Rasoulov, General Director of Barakat Isfara.
Beyond showcasing products, the Tajik delegation will engage in panel discussions, seminars, and business forums-gaining insights into international consumer behavior, sustainability practices, and innovation in food production and supply chains.
Tajikistan's dried fruit sector - renowned for its flavorful apricots, raisins, and prunes - is increasingly positioning itself as a niche exporter. Backed by international development partners, local producers are transitioning toward sustainable and high-quality production models, tailored to meet rising global demand for natural and eco-friendly products.
This participation aligns with Switzerland’s 2022-2025 Cooperation Program for Central Asia, which focuses on inclusive economic development, sustainable resource use, and regional collaboration. Over the past 30 years, Switzerland has allocated over $500 million in development assistance to Tajikistan.
As part of the Trade Promotion East (TPE) program, Tajikistan joins Uzbekistan, Albania, and Serbia in receiving support to enhance SME competitiveness and strengthen the capacity of business support organizations (BSOs) in the agri-food sector.
Meanwhile, the UNDP Aid for Trade initiative continues to promote green growth and inclusive economic models in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, with an emphasis on niche product development over volume-based competition in traditional exports.
The delegation’s efforts also build on the success of the LITACA I and II programs - a long-term cross-border cooperation initiative between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, jointly implemented by UNDP Tajikistan, UNDP Afghanistan, and supported by JICA and the Government of Japan. These programs aim to raise living standards in border provinces through trade, enterprise development, and regional integration.
As Tajikistan’s dried fruit processors take the spotlight at Anuga 2025, they aim not only to grow their international market presence but also to highlight the country’s rich agricultural heritage and establish themselves as trusted players in the global dried fruit industry.
