In Turkmenistan, pupils and their families are preparing for the start of the new school year on September 1, as more than 400 school fairs have opened across the country.
The fairs offer parents the opportunity to purchase all necessary school supplies, from notebooks and pencils to complete school uniforms, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
For girls, the uniform includes a green dress, white apron, blazer, shoes, and the traditional tubeteika (a small Muslim round or canonical skullcap), costing around 500 manat ($142.71).
Boys’ uniforms-including a suit, tie, belt, tubeteika and shoes-are priced similarly at approximately 500 manat.
