Turkmen Fashion Makes Its Mark on Global Runway

Turkmen designers are gaining international recognition as their unique blend of traditional heritage and modern style captivates audiences around the world.

Showcasing intricate patterns, rich textiles, and cultural motifs, Turkmen fashion is stepping confidently onto the global stage, proving that the country’s creative talent is making a lasting impression in the world of high fashion, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

The 19th season of Azerbaijan Fashion Week officially opened in Baku as part of the project “OIC Culture Festival: Baku Creativity Week 2025.”

The event brought together designers from across the East, highlighting the richness, identity, and artistry of oriental fashion.

One of the key highlights was the Oriental Fashion Show, where designers from nine countries - Azerbaijan, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan - unveiled their latest collections.

Turkmenistan was represented by designer Gowher Gouvernet, invited to debut her new collection during Baku’s cultural week. Known for blending the refinement of Eastern couture with elements of Turkmen heritage, Gouvernet has showcased her work at leading global fashion platforms and earned numerous international awards.

In Baku, she presented a collection crafted exclusively for the event - a series of looks reflecting the elegance and spirit of Turkmen culture. The outfits were modeled by Turkmen and Azerbaijani models, accompanied by traditional music that amplified the sense of cultural unity.

Designers across the Oriental Fashion Show demonstrated how ancient traditions can be reimagined through contemporary artistic expression. The showcase once again highlighted the growing global influence of Eastern high fashion and its unique ability to merge heritage with modern style.
