Turkmen, Uzbek FMs Confer on Enhancing Strategic Partnership

Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov have had a phone call with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to discuss strengthening the strategic partnership between their countries.

The two officials also discussed ways to explore new areas of growth, and coordinate efforts ahead of upcoming regional and international events, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have reached unprecedented heights in recent years, driven by frequent high-level meetings. Cooperation is further enhanced by robust interdepartmental communications, increasing trade volumes, and growing cargo transportation. Notably, the construction of the "Shavat-Dashoguz" cross-border trade zone is nearing completion.

Both sides are preparing for the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, the Interregional Forum, and the Business Council. Additionally, they are coordinating ahead of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian heads of state, scheduled for September in Tashkent.
