Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has inaugurated four large-scale projects in Turkmenistan’s Balkan region during a ceremony celebrating Construction and Industrial Workers’ Day.
Highlighting the region’s role in the country’s industrialization and transit strategy, he emphasized that economic growth creates opportunities to improve living standards and ensure a prosperous, peaceful life for the population, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Among the key developments is a state-of-the-art urea production complex with a capacity of 1.155 million tons per year, built by a consortium of Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) and Gap İnşaat (Türkiye) using advanced European and Asian technologies. The facility, meeting international environmental standards, is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs and boost Turkmenistan’s chemical industry.
Infrastructure projects also include a new 354-meter bridge over the Garabogaz Gulf and a 207-km highway connecting Turkmenbashi to Garabogaz, designed to strengthen the country’s position on international trade routes and increase cargo throughput via Turkmenbashi International Port.
President Berdimuhamedov also highlighted social and regional development projects, including a 20,000 cubic meter-per-day water treatment facility in Esenguly, a combined-cycle power plant, solar-wind energy stations, and new residential and cultural complexes in Guvlymayak and Gyzylarbat districts.
“These initiatives are part of Turkmenistan’s ongoing commitment to regional development and modernizing its economy while improving quality of life for citizens,” the president stated.
