Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent has become a hub of regional trade and opportunity as the “Made in Afghanistan Expo Tashkent 2026” brings together entrepreneurs, officials, and global partners under one roof.

The high-profile event gathered representatives from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, along with international organizations, business leaders, and media, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

A delegation of 120 Afghan entrepreneurs, led by Mohammad Karim Hoshimi, played a central role in showcasing the country’s growing production and export potential.

Speakers at the opening emphasized that the expo is more than just an exhibition - it’s a strategic platform designed to deepen economic ties, boost trade, and create direct connections between businesses in both countries. The event highlights a shared ambition to expand partnerships and unlock new markets.

The numbers already point to accelerating cooperation. By the end of 2025, bilateral trade reached approximately $1.68 billion, with Uzbek exports dominating at $1.53 billion and Afghan imports exceeding $145 million. In early 2026 alone, over 600 enterprises with Afghan capital were operating across Uzbekistan - a sign of rapidly strengthening economic integration.

Visitors to the expo are getting a firsthand look at Afghanistan’s diverse production base, from food and agricultural goods to textiles, carpets, jewelry, construction materials, and traditional handicrafts - all aimed at boosting exports and attracting new partners.
