Air China, the national flag carrier of the People’s Republic of China, has launched direct, regular flights between Beijing and Tashkent, marking the airline’s official entry into the Uzbek market.
The inaugural flight touched down at Tashkent International Airport, where it was greeted with a traditional water salute, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Disembarking passengers and crew from the Boeing 737 aircraft were welcomed with flowers, reflecting Uzbekistan’s hospitality and cultural warmth.
Speaking at the event, an Air China representative hailed the new route as a strategic milestone in enhancing economic, tourism, and cultural relations between China and Uzbekistan. He reiterated the airline’s dedication to delivering a travel experience that combines comfort, reliability, and top-tier service.
Umid Khamraev, First Deputy Director of Uzbekistan Airports Handling, welcomed Air China as a valued new partner. He emphasized the significance of the partnership, noting that the Beijing-Tashkent route is expected to attract strong demand. “All the necessary infrastructure and services are in place to support this new connection at the highest standard,” he said.
The route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering greater flexibility and choice for travelers.
Founded in 1988, Air China is the largest airline in China and its official national carrier. It is a member of the Star Alliance and is headquartered at Beijing Capital International Airport, with an extensive network of international and domestic destinations.
