Travel between Armenia and Uzbekistan has become more convenient with the launch of a new direct air route linking the two capitals.
Armenian carrier Shirak Avia officially began operating flights on the Yerevan-Tashkent-Yerevan route on June 2, expanding connectivity between the South Caucasus and Central Asia, The Caspian Post reports via Armenpress.
The new service connects Yerevan and Tashkent with a weekly flight scheduled every Tuesday.
The route is expected to facilitate tourism, business travel, and people-to-people exchanges between Armenia and Uzbekistan while providing travelers with a direct alternative to connecting flights through third countries.
The launch comes amid growing efforts across the region to strengthen air connectivity and support expanding economic and cultural ties between Central Asian and Caucasus nations.
