Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Get Closer as FLYONE Asia Opens New Air Links

Air travel between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is getting a major boost as Uzbekistan-based airline FLYONE Asia launches new regular flights connecting Tashkent with both Baku and Ganja.

The new routes mark another step in the expansion of Azerbaijan’s international air network and strengthen transport links between the South Caucasus and Central Asia, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

Under the new schedule, FLYONE Asia will operate weekly flights between Tashkent and Baku every Wednesday, arriving at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. A second weekly service linking Tashkent and Ganja will operate every Sunday via Ganja International Airport.

The launch is expected to create additional travel options for passengers while supporting tourism, business cooperation, and regional connectivity between the two countries.

For Azerbaijan, the arrival of FLYONE Asia represents another milestone in the development of the country's aviation sector and growing international passenger traffic. The partnership also reinforces the role of Heydar Aliyev International Airport as one of the region’s leading aviation hubs.

The new service is particularly significant for Ganja, which will receive its first-ever direct air connection with Tashkent. The route is expected to improve international accessibility, encourage tourism and business exchanges, and expand the airport’s global route network.

Tashkent remains a strategically important gateway for Azerbaijan’s relations with Central Asia. The new flights are expected to strengthen economic, tourism, and cultural ties while making travel between the two nations more convenient than ever.
