Director of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek Investment Company Nazim Hajiyev has said that Azerbaijani companies are greatly interested in expanding their operations in Uzbekistan, focusing on manufacturing and the entertainment industry.
Hajiyev highlighted ongoing and planned collaborative projects with Uzbek firms, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
At the same time, Uzbek businesses are keen to enter the Azerbaijani market, particularly in manufacturing sectors such as textiles and cotton products. The Azerbaijani-Uzbek Investment Company is playing a key role in facilitating these cross-border initiatives.
“Alongside this, we are in talks with Azerbaijani private companies aiming to establish a presence in Uzbekistan. Their interests are more varied, including manufacturing and entertainment. These projects are still in the early stages and undergoing investment assessments,” Hajiyev noted.
Currently, around 15 projects are being reviewed, encompassing retail ventures and the production of equipment for renewable energy.
Looking ahead, Hajiyev expressed optimism about the year to come. “We plan to launch the projects already approved and expand our portfolio with new initiatives. We anticipate a significant increase in the number of projects compared to this year. This momentum will be supported by the opening of our Baku office, stronger partnerships across Europe, and enhanced marketing and PR efforts,” he added.
