The Kyrgyz and Uzbek Ministries of Natural Resources and Ecology have formalized a partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding to allocate quota-based study places for Kyrgyz students at the Central Asian University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change, also known as Green University.
The agreement aims to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance human capital development in the fields of sustainable development, environmental protection, and climate science, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
Under the terms of the memorandum, Uzbekistan will provide up to nine quota places for Kyrgyz students in the 2025-2026 academic year, including up to five spots for undergraduate programs and up to four for master’s degree studies.
Courses at Green University are offered in English, emphasizing the institution’s international outlook and preparing students to compete in the global arena.
This initiative is designed to train a new generation of specialists equipped to tackle environmental protection and climate change challenges. It marks a significant step forward in the growing partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as they work together to address pressing regional and global environmental issues.
