Oman’s Asyad Takes Control of Key Uzbek Logistics Hubs

Oman’s Asyad Group has acquired a controlling stake in Uzbekistan’s two most important logistics platforms, marking a major step toward building a new multimodal trade corridor linking Central Asia with global markets through Oman’s ports.

The strategic transaction, completed in partnership with Orient Group and the Uzbek-Omani investment company UzOman, gives Asyad control of Universal Logistics Services (ULS) and Highway Logistics Center (HLC), two key freight hubs integrated into Tashkent’s logistics infrastructure, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

Together, the assets handle approximately 25% of Uzbekistan’s container rail traffic and hold a leading position in the country’s premium warehousing sector.

New Logistics Bridge Between Central Asia and Oman

The acquisition provides Asyad with a direct foothold in one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing logistics markets while connecting Oman’s maritime infrastructure with emerging Eurasian trade routes.

By incorporating Uzbekistan’s inland multimodal terminals into its global network, Asyad is creating a seamless logistics chain linking rail, road transport, warehousing, customs services, and last-mile delivery with Oman’s ports.

The move is expected to strengthen freight flows between China, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, while enhancing Oman’s role as a global logistics hub.

Strategic Expansion Along Eurasian Trade Routes

The investment aligns with Oman’s Logistics Strategy 2040 and supports the Oman Investment Authority’s objective of deepening economic cooperation with Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region.

Asyad says the acquisition strengthens its presence along emerging Eurasian trade corridors and supports its long-term strategy to expand cargo volumes and regional connectivity.

Asyad Group CEO Abdulrahman Salim Al Hatmi said that the investment establishes a strategic operational base in Central Asia and creates a direct logistics bridge between Oman and some of the region’s fastest-growing markets.

He noted that ownership of critical dry port assets in Uzbekistan enables the company to integrate transportation, logistics, warehousing, customs clearance, and port operations into a single end-to-end service platform.

Uzbekistan Strengthens Position as Regional Logistics Hub

Orient Group Management CEO Davron Ozgurer described the partnership as a transformative step for Uzbekistan’s infrastructure sector.

He said combining Orient’s local expertise with Asyad’s international logistics capabilities will further strengthen Uzbekistan’s role as a key transit hub connecting Central Asia, the Gulf region, and global markets.

UzOman CEO Omar Mahmood Bahram said the transaction reflects the growing strategic partnership between Oman and Uzbekistan and will help create a direct logistics route for Central Asian exports through Oman’s world-class port infrastructure.

The deal also highlights rising international investor confidence in Uzbekistan’s transport and logistics sector, driven by economic reforms, expanding trade links, and deeper integration into global supply chains.

For Asyad, the acquisition provides a platform for future expansion across neighboring markets and reinforces its ambition to remain a leading facilitator of global trade and regional connectivity.
