In Islamabad, a high-level meeting and interactive session has taken place between the representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Uzbek Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Shokhrukh Gulamov, focusing on strengthening bilateral economic ties and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment.
The event was attended by RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, and former RCCI President Dr. Shumail Daud, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
During discussions, both sides explored ways to expand Pakistan-Uzbekistan cooperation, emphasizing joint ventures, deeper trade and investment links, and the development of key sectors, including the pharmaceutical industry.
RCCI President Shaukat highlighted the recent Business Opportunities Conference in Tashkent in November, noting its importance for boosting economic engagement. He emphasized follow-up meetings with Uzbek chambers of commerce, ministry-level interactions, and the visit to the Export Pharmaceutical Park, which opened new avenues for collaboration, particularly in pharmaceuticals.
Shaukat stressed RCCI’s commitment to developing business-to-business (B2B) connections, fostering investment partnerships, and turning diplomatic goodwill into tangible economic results. He highlighted that continuous engagement between chambers and government institutions is key to unlocking the full potential of bilateral trade.
Gulamov praised RCCI’s active role in promoting the Pakistan-Uzbekistan economic ties and expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation through joint ventures, simplified trade procedures, and sectoral development.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to continue collaboration and jointly advance mutually beneficial trade and investment projects between the two countries.
