Perceived Inflation in Uzbekistan Rises to 14.4% in April

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has released the results of its monthly survey measuring perceived inflation levels among the general public and business entities for April.

According to the findings, the perceived inflation rate stood at 14.4%, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Regionally, the highest perceived inflation was reported in Tashkent city (18.2%) and Andijan region (16.4%), while the lowest was in Navoi region (12.8%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (12.4%).

A majority of respondents indicated significant increases in the prices of meat, dairy, electricity, and natural gas.

Additionally, there was a rise in the share of people who noticed sharp price increases in fuel, fruits and vegetables, vegetable oil, medicines, construction materials, restaurant and café services, medical services, rent, education, sugar and confectionery, renovation services, and other household services.
