Governor of Russia's Omsk city Vitaliy Khotsenko has announced that Omsk Innovation Technologies Plant (“OmZIT”), specializing in boiler equipment under the LAVART brand, plans to open a production facility in Uzbekistan.
The decision follows a meeting between Omsk representatives and Uzbekistan’s business community within the framework of an intergovernmental commission, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
During negotiations, the parties agreed to establish an engineering center in Bukhara and partially localize OmZIT’s production within the country.
Khotsenko emphasized that these agreements were reached during his visit to Uzbekistan and highlighted the readiness of Omsk enterprises to contribute to modernizing the nation’s energy infrastructure.
On December 23, a delegation from Bukhara, led by Mayor Kurbon Tursunov, visited Omsk. The talks focused on specific steps and timelines for the project. Establishing a local production facility and engineering center will enhance collaboration on innovative energy solutions and strengthen technological exchange between regions.
The launch of the LAVART engineering center and production in Bukhara will be a key milestone in industrial cooperation between Omsk Region and Uzbekistan, supporting the country’s energy sector development.
