Uzbek Leader, Georgian PM Discuss Expanding Trade and Cultural Cooperation

During his official working visit to Turkmenistan, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration in trade, economic development, transport, logistics, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

They highlighted the successful implementation of agreements reached during Kobakhidze’s visit to Uzbekistan in March 2025, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.

The discussion underscored the importance of enhancing interagency cooperation, with recent meetings between foreign ministers and economic officials resulting in increased trade turnover, growth in freight transportation, and a rise in joint projects and enterprises.

Both sides emphasized coordinated efforts to boost mutual supplies and advance cooperative initiatives, particularly in agriculture, textiles, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, food production, and logistics sectors.
