President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will undertake an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from August 30 to September 3 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The visit will include high-level multilateral and bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan's strategic ties with China and other Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
As outlined in the official program, President Mirziyoyev will participate in the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting and the “SCO Plus” summit in Tianjin on August 31 and September 1. Key agenda items will include expanding multilateral collaboration and deepening cooperation in critical sectors such as regional security, the digital economy, green industry, energy, tourism, and more. The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Tianjin Declaration and several joint agreements.
On September 2, the Uzbek leader will travel to Beijing for official talks with President Xi Jinping, along with meetings involving senior Chinese officials and executives from major Chinese corporations. The discussions are expected to focus on bolstering the Uzbekistan-China all-weather strategic partnership and identifying new avenues for practical cooperation.
To conclude the visit, President Mirziyoyev will participate in commemorative ceremonies on September 3 marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, reflecting Uzbekistan’s commitment to honoring shared historical legacies.
