Uzbekistan, Türkiye Sign Major Strategic Deal Package

Following the fourth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held in Ankara, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have signed an extensive package of bilateral documents, marking a new stage in their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The centerpiece of the agreements was a Joint Statement, along with decisions outlining concrete mechanisms for cooperation within the framework of the all-encompassing strategic partnership, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek president's website.

Beyond political declarations, the two sides approved a series of practical agreements covering a wide range of areas - from security and the economy to social and humanitarian cooperation.

In particular, agreements were reached on collaboration in military medicine, healthcare, and education, as well as on coordinated approaches to the return of labor migrants. A substantial portion of the signed documents focuses on economic interaction, including the development of international transport corridors, support for special economic zones, and expanded cooperation in the mining sector.

Special attention was also given to security and cultural ties. The presidents approved a cooperation program between the foreign ministries for 2026-2027, alongside a cultural cooperation plan. Separate agreements were reached on information exchange in the field of nuclear and radiation safety.

In addition, the religious authorities of Uzbekistan and Türkiye formalized their cooperation through a dedicated protocol, underscoring the close spiritual and cultural values shared by the two nations.
