A delegation of the Asian Development Bank, led by Country Director for Uzbekistan Kanokpan Lao-Araya, has held talks in Tashkent with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov to discuss prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by ADB Principal Public-Private Partnership Specialist Dhawal Jhamb, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Health Asilbek Khudayarov, as well as Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov and Otabek Fazilkarimov, alongside other senior government officials, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, the effective implementation of joint projects, and the current status and future development plans of initiatives in Uzbekistan carried out through public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms.
Particular attention was paid to the rollout of modern healthcare projects, including the construction of multidisciplinary hospitals, the introduction of advanced medical technologies, the integration of international best practices, and bringing medical institutions in line with global standards.
The participants also exchanged views on improving the efficiency of ongoing projects and enhancing financing mechanisms. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding platforms for the exchange of experience and expertise in these priority areas.
