Director of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Abdulla Azizov has held talks with the leadership of the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM), representatives of KIDL, and delegates from Daejeon University, with the sides agreeing to further develop and implement joint projects.
AKOM is one of the leading professional associations in the field of traditional Korean medicine in the Republic of Korea, bringing together around 30,000 medical practitioners, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The association plays an active role in advancing scientific research, educational programs, and public health policy, while also promoting Korean medicine and expanding international cooperation.
During the meeting, Azizov delivered a presentation on the Tashkent Pharma Park, outlining its infrastructure, existing incentives, and investment opportunities. The conditions and development model of the pharmaceutical cluster generated strong interest among the Korean participants.
As a result of the talks, Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and AKOM signed a memorandum of understanding, providing for cooperation in education, scientific research, and professional exchange.
The parties also agreed to further develop and implement joint projects, and to continue negotiations at subsequent stages with the participation of AKOM member organizations, signaling a new phase in Uzbekistan-South Korea collaboration in healthcare and pharmaceutical innovation.
