The first shipment of high-quality green tea from Jiajiang County in Sichuan Province has departed for Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2026.
The consignment weighs 300 tons and is being transported by ten cargo trucks, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The shipment will cross the state border via a checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, before continuing along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route to reach the Uzbek capital.
In recent years, Jiajiang County has been actively transforming its tea industry with a strong focus on exports. In 2025, the total value of tea exports from the county reached approximately $29 million. Notably, the first overseas tea warehouse in Sichuan Province was established in Uzbekistan, strengthening logistics and distribution links with the region.
Jiajiang’s export geography now spans around 20 countries and regions, including Russia, Morocco, and others.
For Uzbekistan, China remains a key trading partner. By the end of 2025, bilateral trade turnover exceeded $17.2 billion, with China accounting for 21.2 percent of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade-underscoring the growing depth of economic ties between the two countries.
