A team of specialists from Uzbekistan’s national oil and gas company, Uzbekneftegaz, has completed a professional training program in Baku under the framework of a bilateral cooperation memorandum with the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), aimed at advancing workforce development and knowledge sharing.
The training focused on the topic “Risk Management in the Oil and Gas Industry” and marked the first hands-on introduction of Uzbek specialists to SOCAR’s financial control and risk management systems, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbekneftegaz.
The visiting delegation, primarily from the Financial and Compliance Control Department, participated in a series of workshops, training sessions, and technical meetings related to technological safety, regulatory compliance, and corporate oversight.
The visit also included opportunities for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange with Azerbaijani counterparts, highlighting a commitment to mutual growth and modernization in line with international standards.
“This cooperation not only enhances the professional capacity of our staff but also strengthens institutional ties and facilitates the exchange of best practices,” Uzbekneftegaz noted in an official statement.
The company further announced plans to integrate insights gained from the training into its internal systems, with the goal of improving risk governance and adopting globally recognized compliance frameworks.
