Governor of Uzbekistan's Tashkent Region, Zoyir Mirzayev, has met with Chinese entrepreneurs specializing in agriculture and biotechnology to discuss new opportunities for trade, investment, and joint projects.
Chinese investors proposed building eco-friendly, energy-efficient greenhouses that run on solar heating and use a five-layer insulation system, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
These facilities can maintain temperatures up to +5°C even during the coldest winter days, enabling year-round cultivation, higher exports, and stable food prices.
They also introduced an innovative method of outdoor silkworm breeding directly on trees. The technology reduces labor costs and allows households with small gardens to produce silk as an additional income source.
Investors presented climate-adapted bioproducts designed for the region, which strengthen root systems, improve plant resilience, and can boost yields by up to 20 per cent.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to begin cooperation in all three areas, prepare feasibility studies, and launch pilot projects across selected districts. The initiatives aim to modernize agriculture, accelerate the use of innovative technologies, and expand the region’s export potential.
