Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev has met with Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Sharif Farouk, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and reaffirmed their leaders’ shared commitment to broadening collaboration across various sectors.
The Egyptian delegation commended Uzbekistan’s wide-ranging reforms supporting entrepreneurship, digital transformation of government services, development of local producers, and improvements in the banking and financial systems, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Dr. Sharif Farouk emphasized that his ministry prioritizes strengthening the domestic trade framework, ensuring food security, and maintaining market stability. The discussion focused on joint initiatives to increase trade volumes, enhance logistics capabilities, and upgrade supply chain systems.
Uzbekistan’s digital innovations for tracking key commodities were noted as a valuable tool, enhancing transparency, improving monitoring, and guaranteeing consistent product availability to the population.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to expand economic ties, exchange expertise, and promote direct business contacts. Dr. Farouk expressed Egypt’s readiness to create favorable conditions for Uzbek investments and to collaborate on joint projects in the domestic trade sector.
