Uzbekistan, Egypt Deepen Pharma Ties with Cooperation Deals

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical companies Propharm Partners and Lafz have concluded a successful working visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, where they held a series of high-level meetings and signed a number of strategic agreements aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the signing of a landmark agreement with ACDIMA, the largest pharmaceutical holding in the Middle East, to jointly localize the production of select pharmaceutical products in Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The agreement outlines a detailed roadmap for project implementation, including the stages of integration and respective responsibilities of both sides.

ACDIMA, which brings together 17 pharmaceutical companies producing more than 1,200 types of medicines, plays a major role in the region’s healthcare supply chain.

During the visit, distribution agreements were also signed with EIPICO, MUP (Medical Union Pharmaceuticals), and October Pharma, all of which are subsidiaries of ACDIMA. These agreements provide for direct export of pharmaceuticals to Uzbekistan, as well as step-by-step localization of affordable, high-quality medicines to serve the country’s healthcare needs.

The agreements are expected to significantly enhance Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical capabilities and reinforce access to effective, affordable drugs for the local population, while also laying the groundwork for deeper industrial collaboration between Uzbekistan and Egypt.
