An online meeting between the interparliamentary cooperation groups of the Senate of Uzbekistan and the Senate of the French Republic has been held to discuss the future of bilateral legislative collaboration.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed prospects for enhancing interparliamentary ties and further strengthening Uzbekistan-France relations, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Participants noted that cooperation between the two countries has reached the level of a strategic partnership, supported by high-level visits and the implementation of significant joint projects in recent years.
The meeting also focused on expanding economic cooperation and deepening engagement across key sectors. Cultural and humanitarian collaboration emerged as a central theme, with particular emphasis on joint initiatives for restoring cultural heritage sites and broadening educational partnerships.
Officials highlighted the growing interest in learning the French language in Uzbekistan and the consistent development of cooperation between universities in both countries.
Tourism exchanges were also discussed, with proposals to organize joint tourism forums and cultural events aimed at increasing mutual visitor flows.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain systematic interaction between their interparliamentary groups, convene joint sessions at least once a year, and hold the next meeting in Uzbekistan.
