Uzbekistan, Jordan Deepen Ties in Mining and Geology

A delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Rustam Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, has concluded a working visit to Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of mining and geological exploration.

The visit featured a series of high-level meetings with senior officials from Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Uzbek delegation included representatives from key national mining and exploration enterprises, namely Navoiuran, Uzbek KCM JSC, and Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

Discussions during the visit focused on unlocking opportunities for joint projects in mineral exploration, improving the effectiveness of geological fieldwork, and expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries in resource development.

One of the significant outcomes of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of mutual cooperation and a comprehensive roadmap with the Jordanian mining firm NAMC. The agreements pave the way for collaborative efforts in the exploration and development of copper, rare metals, and various industrial minerals.

In parallel, experts from Uzbekistan’s Navoiuran and Jordan’s JUMCO conducted a joint field assessment of promising uranium sites. This hands-on survey aimed to evaluate the geological potential of targeted locations and identify pathways for future joint exploration.

As a result of the successful visit, a joint working group was established, comprising representatives from both countries’ relevant ministries, as well as experts from NAMC and JUMCO. This group will coordinate further exploration activities and technical studies.

During the mission, preliminary geological data on deposits of uranium, critical minerals, and non-ferrous metals were reviewed. Both sides expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation and agreed to undertake more detailed geological studies to fully assess the mineral resource potential of the identified sites.
