Uzbekistan, Qatar Deepen Collaboration at Trade and Economic Talks

The second session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar has been held in Tashkent, where the delegations discussed expanding collaboration across key sectors including trade, investment, banking, agriculture, environmental protection, transportation, tourism, and information technology.

The session is co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Trade, Dr. Ahmad Mohammed Al Sayed, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The session concluded with the signing of a Protocol that outlined specific steps to deepen bilateral ties and facilitate the implementation of joint projects.

Priority areas include the creation of joint production facilities, infrastructure development, and increased Qatari investment in green energy and Uzbekistan’s digital economy transformation.

Qatari companies currently manage projects in Uzbekistan worth approximately $2.4 billion. Additionally, an investment portfolio featuring 28 promising projects valued at $7.6 billion has been compiled, covering sectors like energy, logistics, geology, IT, and healthcare.
