Between January and July 2025, Uzbekistan exported 1.3 million tons of fruits and vegetables to global markets, generating over $1 billion in revenue, according to a recent report from the National Statistics Agency on the country’s foreign trade turnover.
The export volume rose by 5.2 per cent-an increase of 62,900 tons-compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the value of these exports surged by 35.2 per cent, with fruits and vegetables making up 5.3 per cent of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade during this timeframe, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
“The export value of fruits and vegetables reached $1.067 billion, marking a 35.2 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. This product category accounted for 5.3 per cent of the overall export volume,” the agency’s report stated.
Among the most sought-after products in international markets were dried grapes, onions, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, cherries, apricots, mung beans, and various other fruits and vegetables.
Looking ahead, experts predict that Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable exports could reach $3.5 billion by the end of 2025. This optimistic forecast was discussed during a recent video conference chaired by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focusing on strategies to enhance production, processing, and export capacities in the sector.
