A delegation from the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has reached an agreement with the management of the Karachi port to organize dedicated warehouse facilities for handling export-import cargo.
During the negotiations in Pakistan, the parties agreed to allocate land plots and available spaces for the creation of Uzbek logistics terminals, which will allow domestic carriers to independently manage the accumulation and distribution of goods at the seaport, bypassing third-party operators, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.
The main focus is on creating favorable conditions for transit and providing incentives to investors willing to invest in the development of port infrastructure.
Uzbekistan’s own warehouses in Karachi will become the final point of the southern transport corridor and will provide Uzbekistan with direct access to the world ocean. The implementation of the project will simplify cargo clearance and reduce processing times through integration with the port's digital systems.
