Uzbekistan Sees 42% Surge in Digital Tax Revenue from Global Firms

In the first half of 2025, 72 foreign companies offering digital services in Uzbekistan contributed 78.2 billion soums to the state budget - representing a 42 per cent year-on-year increase.

The surge in tax revenue reflects growing digital engagement in Uzbekistan and strengthened compliance mechanisms for international service providers operating in the country, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.

A significant portion - 94 per cent of total payments - came from ten major global companies:

Meta - 22.6 billion soums ($1.777 billion)

Apple - 22.1 billion soums ($1.738 billion)

Google - 19.4 billion soums ($1.525 billion)

OpenAI - 2.9 billion soums ($228.107 million)

Booking.com - 1.9 billion soums ($149.449 million)

TikTok - 1.8 billion soums ($141.583 million)

Netflix - 896.2 million soums ($70.492 million)

ACCA - 797.1 million soums ($62.698 million)

Zoom - 786.7 million soums ($61.880 million)

Adobe - 530.8 million soums ($41.751 million)

Under Uzbek law, foreign legal entities that provide electronic services are required to file quarterly tax returns and remit taxes no later than the 20th day of the month following each quarter.

As of July 1, 2025, 72 foreign companies are officially registered as digital taxpayers in Uzbekistan. During the reporting period, 14 new international firms entered the registry, while five companies were removed.
