Uzbekistan to Launch Scientific Satellite Aboard SpaceX Rocket

Uzbekistan is set to launch a scientific and technological satellite using a SpaceX rocket, according to information shared during a recent visit by an Uzcosmos delegation to SpaceX headquarters.

The satellite will be assembled by young Uzbek engineers currently studying at Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kun.uz.

In addition, SpaceX representatives expressed readiness to review Uzbekistan’s initial draft of its national space strategy document titled “Space Research and Technology - 2035” and provide recommendations for its further development.

During their visit, the Uzbek delegation also toured SpaceX’s facilities and observed the production processes of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

It is worth recalling that in October of last year, during the 75th International Astronautical Congress held in Milan, both SpaceX and Surrey Satellite Technology expressed their willingness to offer expert consultations in the development of Uzbekistan’s national space program.
