A high-level Uzbek delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodiq Safoyev is visiting Utah to deepen political, business, and academic ties, with talks focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in foreign investment, innovation, and infrastructure development.
The Uzbek delegation expressed interest in adopting Utah’s experience in the mining and processing of rare earth elements, as well as in the production of batteries and semiconductors for electric transport, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Environmental issues also featured prominently in the talks. The two sides explored opportunities for scientific cooperation in addressing ecological challenges in the Aral Sea region, including the cultivation of artemia as a sustainable economic and environmental solution.
In addition, meetings with leaders of Utah’s top universities focused on strengthening academic exchange through joint educational programs, research collaboration, and student mobility initiatives.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying cooperation in the economic, environmental, educational, and cultural sectors, reflecting a growing partnership between Uzbekistan and Utah.
