Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov has met with Wales’ Cabinet Secretary for Education, Lynne Neagle, to discuss expanding cooperation in education.
The talks focused on sharing expertise in early childhood, school education, inclusive learning, and teacher training, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Usmanov also engaged with senior officials from Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and the Welsh Education Partnership to explore joint degree programs with dual diplomas and academic exchanges for students and faculty.
A key outcome was the agreement to develop a joint British Medical University and modern clinic in Samarkand, in collaboration with Cardiff University. Furthermore, Cardiff Metropolitan University’s programs will be introduced at the Tashkent International Medical School in five undergraduate and one master’s disciplines.
Wales, a UK constituent country, has a population of 3.1 million and a GDP of $115.7 billion.
