Armenia is set to export its first shipment of apricots to Singapore, marking a new milestone in the country's efforts to diversify its overseas markets.
The inaugural one-ton shipment will be exported by Davtyan Farms, a company owned by entrepreneur David Davtyan, The Caspian Post reports via Davtyan's message on Facebook.
The Singapore delivery comes just days after exporters prepared the first batch of Armenian apricots for Poland, from where the fruit will be distributed to consumers across several European Union member states.
Since May 21, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has gradually introduced bans on imports of Armenian products, including brandy, flowers, fruits, vegetables, and fish. The restrictions were later expanded to cover nearly all Armenian quarantine-controlled goods, with the exception of canned products, including their transit through Russia to other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states.
