Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during Bayramov's official visit to Baghdad.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iraq, exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations, in particular in such areas as trade, investment, energy and tourism, The Caspian Post reports via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation within multilateral platforms such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the OIC and the CICA.
Minister Bayramov briefed the Iraqi president on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus region and Azerbaijan's efforts to restore the liberated territories and achieve sustainable peace with Armenia.
The sides also confirmed the importance of deepening partnership based on mutual respect and common interests.
