Head of Department at the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Nijat Hajiyev said that Azerbaijan’s non-oil and non-gas exports to Central Asia have increased by more than 5 per cent, reflecting steady growth in regional trade and investment ties.
Hajiyev made these remarks during the international conference “C6: One Region, Shared Future - Enhancing Strategic Dialogue” in Baku, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Trade Turnover Reaches $1.8 Billion
Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover with Central Asian countries reached $1.8 billion in 2025. While imports from the region account for the majority of this volume, Azerbaijani products are increasingly gaining ground in the markets of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Exports of Azerbaijani-origin non-oil goods to these countries grew by more than 5 per cent, marking positive momentum compared to previous years.
Rising Investment Flows
Hajiyev also noted that foreign direct investment (FDI) from Central Asian countries into Azerbaijan rose during January-September 2025. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan accounted for the largest shares of these investments.
At the same time, Azerbaijan invested $41.7 million in Central Asian economies during the first nine months of 2025 in the form of direct foreign investment.
