Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, has met with UK’s Ambassador Gareth Ward to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.
The talks highlighted growing momentum in economic collaboration between the two countries, particularly in trade, transport, logistics, finance, tourism, and civil aviation, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
According to official figures, trade turnover between Georgia and the UK reached $170 million in 2024. Georgian exports to the UK saw a notable increase of 43 per cent, while total UK’s investment in Georgia rose to $448 million.
Kvrivishvili stressed the importance of advancing business partnerships and noted that the launch of direct flights between Georgia and the UK in 2025 would play a vital role in strengthening economic ties and facilitating greater connectivity.
