A direct air connection between Tbilisi and Copenhagen has officially been launched, marking the start of operations in Georgia by Norwegian, the second-largest airline in Scandinavia.
The new scheduled service between the capitals of Georgia and Denmark will operate twice a week, The Caspian Post reports, citing News Georgia.
The inaugural flight was carried out using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft and transported 180 passengers.
In a statement, the United Airports of Georgia described the new service as the first-ever direct air route connecting Tbilisi and Copenhagen.
The agency said the launch of the route is expected to support the development of Georgia's aviation market, strengthen the country's links with Europe, and help attract high-spending tourists from Denmark and other Scandinavian countries.
