Teen Crime in Georgia: Theft, Robbery and Group Violence Top Charges

Georgian authorities detained 336 teenagers aged 14 to 17 for various criminal offenses between January and May 2026.

Around 40% of all juvenile suspects were detained in Tbilisi, making the capital the region with the highest number of teenage offenders. Adjara ranked second, followed by the Imereti region, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Georgia.

The most common charges against minors included theft, robbery, and participation in group violence. Other offenses recorded during the period involved criminal threats, assault causing bodily harm, and drug-related crimes.

The statistics also highlight the growing number of young crime victims. Between January 1 and June 1, 2026, a total of 408 children and teenagers under the age of 18 were officially recognized as victims of crime in Georgia.

According to the report, domestic violence and physical assault accounted for the majority of cases involving underage victims.
