On Sunday, the Iranian Defense Ministry unveiled a newly developed medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM).
The “E’temad” (trust) ballistic missile was unveiled during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to an exhibition of the Defense Ministry’s missiles, The Caspian Post reports citing Tasnim.
The 16-meter long missile has a range of 1,700 kilometers.
E’temad is equipped with a precision-guided warhead.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Iran maintains that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
