Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence forces in Khorasan Razavi province have apprehended eight members of a Mossad-linked network involved in hostile activities during the 12-day conflict imposed on Iran in June.
In a statement, the IRGC’s Khorasan Razavi division confirmed the success of a targeted intelligence operation that led to the arrest of the suspects, The Caspian Post reports via Iranian media.
The group is accused of transmitting sensitive information, including coordinates of critical facilities and details of high-ranking military officials, to Israeli intelligence.
The arrested individuals were reportedly plotting to carry out attacks against both civilian and military officials, as well as sabotage vital infrastructure in the holy city of Mashhad. Authorities discovered a stockpile of materials, including bomb-making equipment, explosives, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were seized during the operation.
Additionally, the suspects were found to have been in contact with separatist groups, further complicating their alleged activities.
The IRGC reiterated that these arrests underscore the readiness and vigilance of its intelligence forces in protecting national security and thwarting foreign espionage and sabotage efforts against Iran.
