Kazakhstan and Iran have recently engaged in high-level talks aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, focusing on cross-border infrastructure and transit initiatives.
The discussions were held between Kazakh Vice Minister of Transport, Talgat Lastaev, and Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Ali Akbar Jokar, The Caspian Post informs via the Kazakh Transport Ministry.
During the meeting, the Iranian side expressed keen interest in participating in Kazakhstan’s road infrastructure projects, which are expected to enhance the country’s transport network and increase transit cargo volumes.
Both parties also explored ways to strengthen collaboration under the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), recognizing it as a key corridor to boost their presence in Eurasian trade and transportation.
In addition, the officials discussed expanding maritime cooperation between the ports of Astara in Iran and Aktau in Kazakhstan, highlighting the substantial potential to grow maritime cargo throughput through enhanced port connectivity and joint efforts.
