The US is reportedly planning for a military campaign against Iran that could last at least 100 days - and possibly stretch into September.
The officials from United States Central Command (CENTCOM) have requested additional military intelligence personnel be sent to its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, to support operations against Iran for “at least 100 days”, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
The request suggests the operation could continue far beyond the initial four-week timeframe previously indicated by US President Donald Trump.
Longer Conflict Than Expected?
The move signals that the military campaign against Tehran may extend significantly beyond early projections. The need for additional intelligence staff is also seen as an indication that the US administration may not have been fully prepared for the broader consequences of the conflict.
Further underscoring those concerns, the US Department of State is reportedly deploying extra personnel to the American embassy in Athens to assist US citizens amid rising regional tensions.
If confirmed, the 100-day planning window points to expectations of a prolonged and complex confrontation, raising new questions about the scale and duration of Washington’s strategy toward Iran.
