A new round of negotiations between the US and Iran may be held on June 5.
The two sides are discussing a preliminary framework agreement aimed at easing tensions between Washington and Tehran. Sources described the proposed deal as a memorandum of understanding that would pave the way for further negotiations on unresolved final issues, The Caspian Post reports via Al Hadath.
The potential interim accord could be titled the “Islamabad Declaration,” highlighting the role of Pakistan as a key mediator in the negotiation process.
Sources also claim Pakistan could announce the memorandum even without the direct presence of the main parties. Senior US and Iranian negotiators are expected to join later stages of talks focused on reaching a final agreement.
