President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, has arrived in Kazakhstan on his first official visit, marking a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
During the visit to Astana, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Christodoulides are expected to hold high-level talks aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The discussions will focus on expanding trade and economic ties, boosting investment partnerships, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The two leaders will also participate in an expanded meeting with official delegations from Kazakhstan and Cyprus, reflecting growing interest in enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
Several agreements and memorandums are expected to be signed following the talks, potentially paving the way for new business, investment and tourism opportunities.
The visit comes amid increasing connectivity between the two countries. Kazakhstan’s national carrier, Air Astana, recently launched regular flights from Astana and Almaty to Larnaca, making travel between Kazakhstan and Cyprus easier than ever before.
Interest in Cyprus has also grown after Nicosia was named Europe’s Best Cultural Destination in 2026, further strengthening the Mediterranean island’s appeal for Kazakh tourists and investors alike.
