Kazakh Doctors Remove 80 Bladder Stones in Rare Surgery

Doctors in Turkistan, Kazakhstan have successfully removed 80 stones from a 60-year-old patient’s bladder following a complex but minimally invasive surgical procedure.

The man sought medical help at the central hospital after experiencing serious discomfort. A thorough examination revealed numerous formations in the bladder that required urgent intervention, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Minimally Invasive, Maximum Precision

Medical specialists opted for percutaneous cystolithotripsy - a modern, minimally invasive technique performed through a small incision of about one centimeter. According to the regional health department, this approach significantly reduces trauma and speeds up recovery.

During the operation, surgeons carefully extracted 80 bladder stones, successfully completing the delicate procedure without complications.

Discharged in Five Days

Thanks to the minimally invasive method, the patient’s recovery progressed quickly. By the fifth day after surgery, he was discharged home in satisfactory condition.

The case highlights the growing use of advanced surgical technologies in regional hospitals, allowing patients to receive high-quality care without the need to travel far from home.

Earlier, doctors in Tajikistan reported performing their first-ever endoscopic cystogastrostomy without an incision - another milestone in minimally invasive medicine in Central Asia.
