Kazakh Leader Visits Kyzylorda’s New 240-MW Power Plant Powering Regional Growth

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has toured a new combined heat and power plant in Kyzylorda, designed to meet the growing energy needs of the region.

The plant, built under the president’s instructions, produces 240 megawatts of electricity and 277 gigacalories of heat. The project, fully funded by Turkish company Aksa Energy, cost 215 billion tenge, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

All main units are now installed, including two gas turbines (176 MW each), a 95 MW steam turbine, two 120-ton-per-hour steam boilers, and four 150-gigacalorie-per-hour hot water boilers.

Earlier in his trip, President Tokayev also visited the Kyzylorda-Nan food factory, highlighting the region’s ongoing development in both energy and industry.
