Kazakh President Heads to Moscow for Talks With Putin

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to take part in official commemorative events in Moscow marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II, with his upcoming visit described by Russian officials as a “friendly gesture.”

During the trip, Tokayev is also expected to hold a separate bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, focusing on key areas of cooperation between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports via Tengrinews.kz.

The announcement comes as President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has also departed for a working visit to Moscow, where he is expected to attend Victory Day commemorative events.

Victory Day remains a major historical and political occasion across the region, with leaders balancing domestic commemorations and international diplomacy during this year’s events.
